    Its exact location is not specified; however, many believe it may become a satellite of the new earth. The following verses seem to support this position.

    Some believe that this city of God will come forth at the beginning of the Millennium. Many others believe it will come forth after the great white throne judgment. Considering that (1) the heavens and earth passed away prior to the great white throne, and (2) THERE WAS FOUND NO PLACE FOR THEM-Rev 20:11, and (3) the placement of New Jerusalem in the Scriptures, it seems clear that this great city of God will descend after the new heavens and earth come forth.

    IF ANY MAN SHALL ADD UNTO THESE THINGS, GOD SHALL ADD UNTO HIM THE PLAGUES THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK:
    AND IF ANY MAN SHALL TAKE AWAY FROM THE WORDS OF THE BOOK OF THIS PROPHECY, GOD SHALL TAKE AWAY HIS PART OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, AND OUT OF THE HOLY CITY, AND FROM THE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK-Rev 22:18,19.

    Very little information is given about the new earth. Some believe the new earth will actually be the old earth renewed. Others believe it will be an entirely new planet.
    Ecc 1:4 says, THE EARTH ABIDETH FOR EVER; it is also written, Eph 3:21-WORLD WITHOUT END. The Bible does not give enough information on this subject to have complete understanding.

    22:6. AND HE SAID UNTO ME, THESE SAYINGS ARE FAITHFUL (or trustworthy) 
    AND TRUE. God's Word is perfect and true. What He said will certainly come to pass and can be trusted.
    AND THE LORD GOD OF THE HOLY PROPHETS. This is another description of Jesus. He is the God of the spirits of the prophets-NIV.
    He SENT HIS ANGEL TO SHOW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THE THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY BE DONE (or happen soon, or take place). These things in the Revelation are shown to
    "His servants," to those who are taught by the Spirit.
    It is written, Rev 22:16-I JESUS HAVE SENT MINE ANGEL TO TESTIFY UNTO YOU THESE THINGS IN THE CHURCHES.
    THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, WHICH GOD GAVE UNTO HIM, TO SHOW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS-Rev 1:1.
    Many seem to think that the Revelation is impossible to understand. The answer lies in the words, "His servants." This book was written for and can be understood by those that follow Jesus. For the unredeemed, however, it is a closed book, a book of confusion. Some, who walk in darkness, may think they understand, but they do not.
    God sent His angel to show things that must take place soon. This was also confirmed in Rev 1:1; as it is written, THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, WHICH GOD GAVE UNTO HIM, TO SHOW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS; AND HE SENT AND SIGNIFIED IT BY HIS ANGEL UNTO HIS SERVANT JOHN.

    22:7. BEHOLD, I COME QUICKLY (or I am coming very soon!-JNT¹⁹⁸). The words, "I come quickly" also appear in verses 12 and 20. One day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. By that scale, He is coming quickly, as this was written only about 1900 years ago.
    BLESSED IS HE THAT KEEPETH (or obeys)
    THE SAYINGS (or words)
    OF THE PROPHECY OF (or written in)
    THIS BOOK. These words appear in this last chapter of the Revelation. Note the words which also appear in the first chapter. BLESSED IS HE THAT READETH, AND THEY THAT HEAR THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY, AND KEEP THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN THEREIN: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND-Rev 1:3.
     Those that obey God's Word are blessed. They shall not perish to the lake of fire, but shall have their part in the New Jerusalem. They shall receive the reward of the inheritance. As it is written, THEREFORE WHOSOEVER HEARETH THESE SAYINGS OF MINE, AND DOETH THEM, I WILL LIKEN HIM UNTO A WISE MAN, WHICH BUILT HIS HOUSE UPON A ROCK-Mt 7:24.

    22:8. AND I JOHN (am the one who)
    SAW THESE THINGS, AND HEARD THEM. John confirms that he did see and hear the things that are presented.
    AND WHEN I HAD HEARD AND SEEN, I FELL DOWN TO WORSHIP BEFORE THE FEET OF THE ANGEL WHICH SHEWED ME THESE THINGS. John seemed overwhelmed by what he had heard and seen. He then fell down before the feet of the angel to worship him.

    22:9. THEN SAITH HE UNTO ME, SEE THOU DO IT NOT (or don't do that!):
    FOR I AM THY FELLOWSERVANT. (Also see Rev 19:10.)

    As shown previously, John had first fallen down before the angel.
    He had fallen down before the feet of the angel.
    His intent was to worship the angel.
    The angel refused to allow himself to be worshiped. John was forbidden from doing these things, because the angel was his fellow servant. Man is not to worship man, no matter how great or exalted a position he may hold.
    Let us recall the incident with Herod. It is written, AND UPON A SET DAY HEROD, ARRAYED IN ROYAL APPAREL, SAT UPON HIS THRONE, AND MADE AN ORATION UNTO THEM. AND THE PEOPLE GAVE A SHOUT, SAYING, IT IS THE VOICE OF A GOD, AND NOT OF A MAN. AND IMMEDIATELY THE ANGEL OF THE LORD SMOTE HIM, BECAUSE HE GAVE NOT GOD THE GLORY: AND HE WAS EATEN OF WORMS, AND GAVE UP THE GHOST-Acts 12:21-23.
    THERE SAT A CERTAIN MAN AT LYSTRA. Paul healed him so that he could walk. AND WHEN THE PEOPLE SAW WHAT PAUL HAD DONE, THEY LIFTED UP THEIR VOICES, SAYING IN THE SPEECH OF LYCAONIA, THE GODS ARE COME DOWN TO US IN THE LIKENESS OF MEN. AND THEY CALLED BARNABAS, JUPITER; AND PAUL, MERCURIUS, BECAUSE HE WAS THE CHIEF SPEAKER. THEN THE PRIEST OF JUPITER, WHICH WAS BEFORE THEIR CITY, BROUGHT OXEN AND GARLANDS UNTO THE GATES, AND WOULD HAVE DONE SACRIFICE WITH THE PEOPLE. WHICH WHEN THE APOSTLES, BARNABAS AND PAUL, HEARD OF, THEY RENT THEIR CLOTHES, AND RAN IN AMONG THE PEOPLE, CRYING OUT, AND SAYING, SIRS, WHY DO YE THESE THINGS? WE ALSO ARE MEN OF LIKE PASSIONS WITH YOU. They stopped the people-ref Acts 14:8-15,18.
    God only is to be worshiped; as it is written, WHO CHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD INTO A LIE, AND WORSHIPED AND SERVED THE CREATURE MORE THAN THE CREATOR, WHO IS BLESSED FOR EVER. AMEN-Ro 1:25.
    Even angels are not to be worshiped; as it is written, LET NO MAN BEGUILE YOU...IN… WORSHIPING OF ANGELS-Col 2:18.
    There are some churches and denominations or religions that condone and even encourage falling down before the head person. A certain religious denomination even encourages kissing the feet of their leader. Such practices are clearly forbidden by the Bible.
    Rev 22:9 continues,
    AND OF THY BRETHREN (or brothers)
    THE PROPHETS, AND OF THEM WHICH KEEP (or obey)
    THE SAYINGS (or words)
    OF THIS BOOK. The angel identifies himself as being:
    thy fellow servant
    of thy brothers
    a prophet
    one which keeps (or obeys) the words of this book.
    Note, those that rebel against God's Word will not dwell with Jesus. 
    John did not recognize him as a person, but thought he was an angel. One might ask, "How could this be?" It is written, FOR IN THE RESURRECTION THEY...ARE AS THE ANGELS OF GOD IN HEAVEN-Mt 22:30.
    The verse concludes with the words, WORSHIP GOD. Only God is to be worshiped.

    22:10. AND HE SAITH UNTO ME, SEAL NOT (or do not seal up)
    THE SAYINGS (or words). The Revelation is not a sealed book. It was given to John to be understood; however, the understanding is reserved for "His servants." Correct understanding of much of the Revelation is hidden from those that are not His servants.
    This is very different from Daniel, which was written several hundred years prior to the Revelation. In Dan 12:4, it is written, BUT THOU, O DANIEL, SHUT UP THE WORDS, AND SEAL THE BOOK, EVEN TO THE TIME OF THE END. Some of the prophecies in Daniel revealed prophetic events that would take place in the distant future. However, the understanding of these was not revealed by God until the appointed time had arrived. Therefore, parts of Daniel were not understood for many centuries, but now it is an unsealed book open to God's servants, as the time of the end is at hand. Seal not the sayings
    OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK. The prophecy in the Revelation is not sealed or hidden,
    FOR THE TIME (of their fulfillment)
    IS AT HAND (or is near). The Revelation covers the past, present, and future. The fulfillment of these prophecies is very near. Therefore, the meaning of the book is not withheld from the saints.

    22:11. HE THAT IS UNJUST (or keeps acting wickedly, or does wrong), 
    LET HIM BE UNJUST STILL (or go on acting wickedly, or continue to do wrong):
    AND HE WHICH IS FILTHY (or vile),
    LET HIM BE (or let him go on being made-JNT¹⁹⁹) (or continue to be)
    FILTHY (or vile)
    STILL:
    AND HE THAT IS RIGHTEOUS (or does right),
    LET HIM BE RIGHTEOUS STILL (or continue to do right):
    AND HE (or whoever)
    THAT IS HOLY, LET HIM BE HOLY STILL.
    The verse is broken down into two parts: the unredeemed and the redeemed. The unredeemed are called unjust and filthy; the redeemed are called righteous and holy.
    Once a person dies, the state they are in is fixed.
    The unjust and the filthy will spend eternity in the lake of fire. They will retain their unjust and filthy nature for eternity. Whatever nature they had on the earth will be kept forever and ever. The lake of fire will have multitudes of people whose nature is that of raw bitterness, hatred, covetousness, jealousy, greed, lying, deceitfulness, murder, stealing, violence, and every sort of ungodliness one can conceive. They will still have their ungodly desires, but they will never be gratified. Where will pride be, when eternal damnation and suffering is the only future?
    The redeemed will forever be partakers of the divine nature. They will forever be righteous and holy. They will forever be filled with joy and love and will be surrounded with people that are the same way.

    22:12. AND, BEHOLD (or pay attention!), 
    I COME QUICKLY (or I am coming soon!). "I come quickly" also appears in verses 7 and 20. One day is as a thousand years with the Lord. By that scale, He is coming quickly, as this was written only about 1900 years ago.
    AND MY REWARD IS WITH ME, TO GIVE EVERY MAN (or person)
    ACCORDING AS HIS WORK SHALL BE (or according to what he has done-JNT²⁰⁰). Jesus comes in the air at the time of the Rapture—rewards are given. Jesus returns to the earth at the Battle of Armageddon—rewards are given.
    Rewards are being determined "now" by what each servant of God does. EVERY MAN’S WORK SHALL BE MADE MANIFEST: FOR THE DAY SHALL DECLARE IT, BECAUSE IT SHALL BE REVEALED BY FIRE; AND THE FIRE SHALL TRY EVERY MAN’S WORK OF WHAT SORT IT IS. IF ANY MAN’S WORK ABIDE WHICH HE HATH BUILT THEREUPON, HE SHALL RECEIVE A REWARD. IF ANY MAN’S WORK SHALL BE BURNED, HE SHALL SUFFER LOSS: BUT HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED; YET SO AS BY FIRE-1 Cor 3:13-15.
    A lack of serving God and many excuses should result in a lack of rewards or even worse. Serving God joyfully and without excuse can bring an abundance of rewards. 

    22:13. I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA (or the ‘A’ and the ‘Z’-JNT²⁰¹),
    THE BEGINNING AND THE END, THE FIRST AND THE LAST. Three sets of descriptions regarding Jesus are combined in this one verse. (These have been repeated in previous verses.) Jesus is speaking. These words show that He is God; He is Deity.

    22:14. BLESSED ARE. Following is a list of other verses in the Revelation that also contain the word, "blessed." 
    BLESSED IS HE THAT READETH, AND THEY THAT HEAR THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY, AND KEEP THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN THEREIN: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND-Rev 1:3.
    BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHICH DIE IN THE LORD FROM HENCEFORTH: YEA, SAITH THE SPIRIT, THAT THEY MAY REST FROM THEIR LABOURS; AND THEIR WORKS DO FOLLOW THEM-Rev 14:13.
    BLESSED IS HE THAT WATCHETH, AND KEEPETH HIS GARMENTS, LEST HE WALK NAKED, AND THEY SEE HIS SHAME-Rev 16:15.
    BLESSED ARE THEY WHICH ARE CALLED UNTO THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB. AND HE SAITH UNTO ME, THESE ARE THE TRUE SAYINGS OF GOD-Rev 19:9.
    BLESSED AND HOLY IS HE THAT HATH PART IN THE FIRST RESURRECTION: ON SUCH THE SECOND DEATH HATH NO POWER, BUT THEY SHALL BE PRIESTS OF GOD AND OF CHRIST, AND SHALL REIGN WITH HIM A THOUSAND YEARS-Rev 20:6.
    BEHOLD, I COME QUICKLY: BLESSED IS HE THAT KEEPETH THE SAYINGS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK-Rev 22:7.
    Rev 22:14 continues, blessed are
    THEY THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS (or who wash their robes). Grace is not a result of keeping the commandments. Rather, keeping the commandments is a result of grace. Keeping God's commandments is a demonstration or testimony of a saint's love for God.

    It is written,
    IF YE LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS-Jn 14:15.
    IF YE KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, YE SHALL ABIDE IN MY LOVE; EVEN AS I HAVE KEPT MY FATHER’S COMMANDMENTS, AND ABIDE IN HIS LOVE-Jn 15:10.
    AND HEREBY WE DO KNOW THAT WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS-1 Jn 2:3.
    AND WHATSOEVER WE ASK, WE RECEIVE OF HIM, BECAUSE WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, AND DO THOSE THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT-1 Jn 3:22.
    BY THIS WE KNOW THAT WE LOVE THE CHILDREN OF GOD, WHEN WE LOVE GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS-1 Jn 5:2.
    FOR THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: AND HIS COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT GRIEVOUS-1 Jn 5:3.
    Rev 22:14 continues,
    THAT THEY MAY HAVE RIGHT TO (eat from)
    THE TREE OF LIFE. Those that keep God's commandments, even those that have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb, should have the right to eat of the tree of life,
    AND MAY ENTER (or go)
    IN THROUGH THE GATES INTO THE CITY (of New Jerusalem).

    22:15. FOR WITHOUT ARE DOGS (or homosexuals-JNT²⁰²), 
    AND SORCERERS (or those who misuse drugs in connection with the occult-JNT²⁰³), AND
    WHOREMONGERS (or sexually immoral), AND
    MURDERERS, AND IDOLATERS (or idol-worshippers), AND
    WHOSOEVER LOVETH AND MAKETH A LIE (or practices falsehood).
    Six categories are given. These unrepentant are without and shall be in the lake of fire for eternity. (Also ref Rev 21:8,27.)

    22:16. I JESUS HAVE SENT MINE ANGEL TO TESTIFY UNTO YOU THESE THINGS. The things that the angel was sent to testify are covered in Rev 1:1. They are the things which must shortly come to pass. 
    AND THE LORD GOD OF THE HOLY PROPHETS SENT HIS ANGEL TO SHOW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THE THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY BE DONE-Rev 22:6.
    THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, WHICH GOD GAVE UNTO HIM, TO SHOW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS-Rev 1:1.
    Jesus had sent His angel to testify (or to expound) unto John the Revelation, so that it would be taught
    IN THE CHURCHES (or to give you this testimony for the churches-NIV). The Revelation is to be taught in the seven churches.

    Incredible as it may seem in this Laodicean church age, many churches that teach Jesus is the only way to be saved will not teach on the Revelation. They use the same excuses that the unbelievers use.
    Clearly, God will not lead a preacher contrary to His Word. Yet, in this age of deception, many Bible teachers actually believe God is leading them not to read or teach the Revelation to their people, even though this is contrary to the Scriptures. The Spirit of God will not lead someone to do contrary to God's Word. Know this, it is written, FOR AS MANY AS ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THEY ARE THE SONS OF GOD-Ro 8:14.
    This is the age of religious deception. Like leaven, it thrives in the Bible schools and continues down through the preachers and on to the people. The deception of this church age is great. Many churches today teach about Jesus, but they will not be raptured. They teach Jesus, but they do not follow Jesus. They will go into the Tribulation. When the Antichrist comes on the scene, their understanding will be so darkened and deceived, they will not even recognize who this man of sin is.

    Rev 1:1-THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, WHICH GOD GAVE UNTO HIM, TO SHOW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS; AND HE SENT AND SIGNIFIED IT BY HIS ANGEL UNTO HIS SERVANT JOHN. One of the purposes of the Revelation is to show the servants of Jesus Christ certain things. The Revelation is not for unbelievers, but for those who, when the Lord comes, shall be found watching and so doing. The Revelation gives future events, which are absolutely certain to come to pass. Even as the Revelation was being written, some of the prophecies were already beginning to transpire. The Father gave it to Jesus. Jesus delivered it to the angel. The angel revealed it to John, and John made it known to the servants of God through the written Word. The Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 1:3-BLESSED IS HE THAT READETH, AND THEY THAT HEAR THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY, AND KEEP THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN THEREIN: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND. A special blessing is promised to the individuals that read or hear the words of this prophecy and also keep the things written therein. Note, the verse said, HE THAT READETH, AND THEY THAT HEAR THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY. The book of the Revelation is also called "THIS PROPHECY." The importance of the Revelation being taught in the churches today is critical, as THE TIME IS AT HAND. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 1:4-JOHN TO THE SEVEN CHURCHES. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 1:11-SAYING, I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA…WRITE IN A BOOK, AND SEND IT UNTO THE SEVEN CHURCHES. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 3:14-AND UNTO THE ANGEL OF THE CHURCH OF THE LAODICEANS WRITE; THESE THINGS SAITH THE AMEN, THE FAITHFUL AND TRUE WITNESS, THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD. This is the age of the Laodicean church that is seeing the fulfillment of many prophecies, which show clearly that the horrible Tribulation period is at hand. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 3:22-HE THAT HATH AN EAR, LET HIM HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAITH UNTO THE CHURCHES. The letter is addressed to the church in general; however, the message is directed to the individual—"HE" that hath an ear. Not everyone has an "ear" or a heart to hear God’s Word. These verses are not addressed to the unbeliever or the make-believe Christian; they are directed to the believers, the church. Even some that are believers can become hardened toward God’s Word and turn away. They no longer have an ear to hear correction. They no longer have a discerning heart to examine themselves by God’s Word to see their true position with Him. They can no longer discern right and wrong by God’s Word. Therefore, both collectively and individually, they are being told, "HE THAT HATH AN EAR," or a heart to understand, "LET HIM HEAR." The Spirit of God is speaking. These same words are repeated in all seven churches. Note the word "churches" is used at the end. It is plural. While each church does cover events from a specific age, each letter is also intended for all church ages to consider and learn from. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 19:10-FOR THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. The purpose of prophecy is to testify of Jesus and glorify Him. "The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
    The Old Testament often foretold of the first coming of Jesus. To our generation, prophecy tells of the second coming of Jesus. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 22:6-AND HE SAID UNTO ME, THESE SAYINGS ARE FAITHFUL AND TRUE: AND THE LORD GOD OF THE HOLY PROPHETS SENT HIS ANGEL TO SHOW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THE THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY BE DONE (or happen soon, or take place). God's Word is perfect and true. What He said will certainly come to pass and can be trusted. The Revelation is shown to "His servants," to those that are taught by the Spirit. The importance of these things being taught is so great, God sent His angel to show them. God’s wants His people to know and understand what must take place soon as related in the Scriptures and specifically in the Revelation. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 22:7-BEHOLD, I COME QUICKLY: BLESSED IS HE THAT KEEPETH THE SAYINGS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK. A person can be hindered from keeping the sayings of the Revelation if his church will not teach it. The Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 22:10-AND HE SAITH UNTO ME, SEAL NOT THE SAYINGS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND. The Revelation is not a sealed book. It was given to John to be understood; however, the understanding is reserved for "His servants." Correct understanding of much of the Revelation is hidden from those that are not His servants. The Revelation contains prophecy; it covers the past, present, and future. The fulfillment of these prophecies is now at hand. Therefore, the meaning of the book is not withheld from the saints. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 22:16-I JESUS HAVE SENT MINE ANGEL TO TESTIFY UNTO YOU THESE THINGS IN THE CHURCHES. Jesus sent His angel to testify (or to expound) unto John the Revelation so that it would be taught in the seven churches. Again, it is noted that the Revelation is to be taught in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.
    Rev 22:18,19-FOR I TESTIFY UNTO EVERY MAN THAT HEARETH THE WORDS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK, IF ANY MAN SHALL ADD UNTO THESE THINGS, GOD SHALL ADD UNTO HIM THE PLAGUES THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK: AND IF ANY MAN SHALL TAKE AWAY FROM THE WORDS OF THE BOOK OF THIS PROPHECY, GOD SHALL TAKE AWAY HIS PART OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, AND OUT OF THE HOLY CITY, AND FROM THE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK. A grave warning is given; it might be called a warning of doom. There are people in this generation that have committed this sin. There are those that have rewritten the Bible and even left out this verse. God's warning is, do not tamper with the prophecy of this book (the Revelation)! The Revelation is to be taught to the servants of God in today’s churches. Clearly, something is wrong if a preacher will not teach the Revelation.

    The Laodicean church age, which we are now in, is to take heed to this book. Woe unto them that refuse to teach this book, that warn against the study of this book, that falsely say this book cannot be understood. Woe to them that say the time is not at hand, that teach contrary to this book, that say this book is not inspired.
    It may be said, one way the adversary causes preachers to take away from the words of the Revelation, is not to teach it at all. Thus, the preacher leaves his congregation in darkness regarding many things that Jesus has ordained to be taught.
    Deut 12:32-WHAT THING SOEVER I COMMAND YOU, OBSERVE TO DO IT: THOU SHALT NOT ADD THERETO, NOR DIMINISH FROM IT. Ministers that will not teach the Revelation would do well to take heed to these words.
    The Word of God has made it very clear: the Revelation is to be taught in His churches. It is Satan’s desire that it not be taught, or that it be taught incorrectly.

    Rev 22:16 continues, I AM THE ROOT AND THE OFFSPRING OF DAVID, AND THE BRIGHT AND MORNING STAR. Here are the last four descriptions of Jesus from the Revelation; one is repeated in a previous verse.
    Jesus is the
    ROOT...OF DAVID. This is covered in Rev 5:5. It connects Christ with Israel and the lineage of David. CONCERNING HIS SON JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD, WHICH WAS MADE OF THE SEED OF DAVID ACCORDING TO THE FLESH-Ro 1:3.
    Jesus is the #36-OFFSPRING OF DAVID. This is another description of Jesus. It is written, THE BOOK OF THE GENERATION OF JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF DAVID, THE SON OF ABRAHAM-Mt 1:1.
    It is written, THE LORD SAID UNTO MY LORD, SIT THOU AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES THY FOOTSTOOL-Ps 110:1.
    Jesus said, WHAT THINK YE OF CHRIST? WHOSE SON IS HE? THEY SAY UNTO HIM, THE SON OF DAVID. HE SAITH UNTO THEM, HOW THEN DOTH DAVID IN SPIRIT CALL HIM LORD, SAYING, THE LORD SAID UNTO MY LORD, SIT THOU ON MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES THY FOOTSTOOL? IF DAVID THEN CALL HIM LORD, HOW IS HE HIS SON?-Mt 22:42-45.
    Jesus is from the lineage of David; thus, He is the son of David.
    Jesus is before all things. By Him were all things created. Only through Christ is there salvation.
    Jesus is the Lord of David; thus, He is both David's Lord and David's son.
    Jesus is the #37-BRIGHT...STAR.
    Jesus is the #38-MORNING STAR. Jesus' coming is as the morning star. A new day is ahead. His coming is as the sunrise for both Israel and those that are watching and ready. The Millennium is about to begin. The unrepentant shall be cut off. The brightness of Jesus shall shine forth. It is written, I WILL GIVE HIM THE MORNING STAR-Rev 2:28. WE HAVE ALSO A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY; WHEREUNTO YE DO WELL THAT YE TAKE HEED, AS UNTO A LIGHT THAT SHINETH IN A DARK PLACE, UNTIL THE DAY DAWN, AND THE DAY STAR ARISE IN YOUR HEARTS-2 Pe 1:19.
    The last chapter of the last book in the Old Testament shows Christ as the "SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS"-Mal 4:2. It is written, BUT UNTO YOU THAT FEAR MY NAME SHALL THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS ARISE WITH HEALING IN HIS WINGS.
    The last chapter of the last book in the New Testament shows Christ as the "bright and morning star."

THE WATER OF LIFE

    JESUS STOOD AND CRIED, SAYING, IF ANY MAN THIRST, LET HIM COME UNTO ME, AND DRINK. HE THAT BELIEVETH ON ME, AS THE SCRIPTURE HATH SAID, OUT OF HIS BELLY SHALL FLOW RIVERS OF LIVING WATER. (BUT THIS SPAKE HE OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH THEY THAT BELIEVE ON HIM SHOULD RECEIVE: FOR THE HOLY GHOST WAS NOT YET GIVEN; BECAUSE THAT JESUS WAS NOT YET GLORIFIED.)-Jn 7:37-39.
    It is written, BUT WHOSOEVER DRINKETH OF THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM SHALL NEVER THIRST; BUT THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM SHALL BE IN HIM A WELL OF WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE-Jn 4:14.
    AND HE SAID UNTO ME, IT IS DONE. I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE BEGINNING AND THE END. I WILL GIVE UNTO HIM THAT IS ATHIRST OF THE FOUNTAIN OF THE WATER OF LIFE FREELY-Rev 21:6.
    AND HE SHOWED ME A PURE RIVER OF WATER OF LIFE, CLEAR AS CRYSTAL, PROCEEDING OUT OF THE THRONE OF GOD AND OF THE LAMB-Rev 22:1.
    Three times the word "come" is mentioned in Rev 22:17.
    Some maintain that all four invitations are addressed to the unrepentant—"Come."
    Others believe that the first and second invitation refer to the Spirit, the bride, and him that heareth, saying, "Come Lord Jesus."
    Then the third and fourth invitations are given to those that are athirst and whosoever will.
    The conclusion of the whole matter is this: the Spirit, the bride, and he that hears say come; he that is thirsty for righteousness, come; and let whoever is willing, take of the free gift of the water of life (which is only possible through Jesus).

    22:18. FOR I TESTIFY UNTO EVERY MAN (or warn everyone) 
    THAT HEARETH THE WORDS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK. Next comes forth a very severe warning of doom. This seems to carry with it the same penalty as taking the mark and worshiping the image of the beast—eternal damnation.
    IF ANY MAN SHALL ADD UNTO THESE THINGS, GOD SHALL ADD UNTO HIM THE PLAGUES THAT ARE WRITTEN (or described)
    IN THIS BOOK. There are people in this generation that have committed this sin. Some have rewritten the Bible and even left out this verse.

    22:19. Next comes another warning of eternal damnation to those that do not take heed.
    AND IF ANY MAN SHALL TAKE AWAY (anything)
    FROM THE WORDS OF THE BOOK OF THIS PROPHECY, GOD SHALL TAKE AWAY HIS PART (or share)
    OUT OF
    (1) THE BOOK (or tree)
    OF LIFE, AND
    (2) OUT OF THE HOLY CITY, AND
    (3) FROM THE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN (or described)
    IN THIS BOOK.
    God's warning is, do not tamper with the prophecy of the Revelation. It appears that the warning, given in these two verses, constitutes the unpardonable sin.
    Some might argue that this is not true, as the words "his part" are included in this verse. However, one of the things written in this book includes the first resurrection, etc. If a man's part in the first resurrection is taken away and his share in the book or tree of life and of the holy city is removed, there appears to be nothing left except eternal damnation. There are others that would argue that, although this verse sounds like salvation can be lost, this cannot be true. The basis for their belief is, the verse does not say the "Lamb’s" book of life, but rather the "book of life." They believe that the "book of life" and the "Lamb's book of life" are two different books.

    Rev 3:11 I COME QUICKLY.

    Rev 22:12 I COME QUICKLY.

    22:21. THE GRACE. The free gift of eternal life, even the blessing,
    OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BE WITH YOU ALL (or be with God's people).
    AMEN.

    THE REVELATION: MISCELLANEOUS

    Rev 22:17-gives God’s last invitation in the Bible to COME...AND…TAKE THE WATER OF LIFE FREELY.
    Rev 22:18,19-gives God’s last warning in the Bible. Do not ADD...or TAKE AWAY FROM THE WORDS OF THE BOOK OF THIS PROPHECY.
    Rev 22:20-gives God’s last promise, SURELY I COME QUICKLY.
    Rev 22:20-the last word before the benediction is JESUS.
    Rev 22:21-the last benediction in the Bible is, THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BE WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.
    Rev 22:21-the last word in the Bible is, AMEN (or so be it O Lord).

    AN ANGEL

    The word "angel" is mentioned in the Revelation approximately 51 times. "Angel's" is mentioned twice. "Angels" (plural) are mentioned approximately 23 times.

    AND I SAW A STRONG ANGEL PROCLAIMING WITH A LOUD VOICE, WHO IS WORTHY TO OPEN THE BOOK, AND TO LOOSE THE SEALS THEREOF?-Rev 5:2.

    AND I SAW ANOTHER ANGEL ASCENDING FROM THE EAST, HAVING THE SEAL OF THE LIVING GOD: AND HE CRIED WITH A LOUD VOICE TO THE FOUR ANGELS, TO WHOM IT WAS GIVEN TO HURT THE EARTH AND THE SEA-Rev 7:2.
